Pennington, an employee of a sheet rock plant at Phoenix worked on an evening shift from 3 to 11 p.m. About six o'clock Tuesday evening he became ill but remained on the job. Fellow workers kept in touch with him off and on, but at nine o'clock found him dead.
He was born June 6, 1916. He attended 3 years of high school here. His senior year was spent at Cowden where he graduated. He was married in 1938 to Miss Helen Hixon, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. M.L. Hixon, of the Cottonwood community northwest of Carnegie. A son and daughter were born to them.
They lived for a number of years at Mountain View where he was employed at Hockaday Hardware. They moved to Mesa about eight years ago.
He is survived by his wife, son David, and Janet Kaye of the home at 1143 East Second Ave., Mesa; four brother and sisters, Mrs. Floyd Dudgeon, Dill City, Jimmie Pennington, Oklahoma City, Mrs. Beulah Dudgeon and Clarence Pennington, Carnegie; and other relatives, including an aunt, Mrs. Zora Pennington, a niece, Miss Linda Pennington and a cousin, Miss Auba Pennington, all of Carnegie.
