Pennington Rites Thursday, Aug. 15
Rev. M.C. Scrudder conducted funeral services at the family home Thursday afternoon for E.C. Pennington, pioneer resident of the Cottonwood district northwest of town, who passed away suddenly Tuesday evening, Aug. 13. Burial was in the Carnegie cemetery.
Ernest Clinton Pennington, son of Frank and Dora Pennington, was born near Mount Pleasant, Tenn. October 5, 1875. At the age of eight years he moved with the family to Dallas county, Texas. On December 23, 1900 he was married to Ada Mabra. In January, 1901 they moved to the present home where they have since resided.
Five children were born to them. They are Mrs. F.L. Dudgeon, Foss; J.C. Pennington, Mountain View; Mrs. Beulah Dudgeon and Roy and Clarence Pennington, all of Carnegie. The wife and children survive, also six grandchildren and two brothers and three sisters. Mr. Pennington was converted in 1903 and united with the Methodist church.
