Lilburn "Doc" Cowgur, 60, of Beason died at 10:10 a.m. Sunday at memorial Medical Center Hospital,Springfield.
His funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Holland and Barry Funeral Home with he Rev. Kim Soom officiating.
Burial will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Ebenezer Cemetery, Galatia.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m.. Thursday at the Ebenezer Presbyterian Church, Galatia.
He was born July 224, 1914, in Saline County,
a son of A. I. and Essie Edwards Cowgur. He married Roberta Cluck Aug. 30, 1941 in Missouri. Surviving are his wife; a son, Lawrence F. Mahomet, a daughter, Mrs. Catherine Randolph, Corrigan, Texas, Five sisters, Mrs. Betty Ressler, Sunrise Beach, Mo. Mrs. Verna Miller, and Mrs Dorothy Morgan both of Springfield, Mrs. Jackie Sheridan, Lincoln; Mrs. Miriam Harty, Mt. Auburn, Two brothers; Bill, Bloomfield, Mo.
Eugene, Mt. Pulaski, and four grandchildren.
Two sisters and three brothers precede him in death.
He was employed at Lincoln State School and was a
member of Ebenezer Presbyterian church and the Mt. Pulaski Masonic Lodge.
Mr. Cowger also was a former member of Beason High School Board of Education and a former Logan County precinct committee.
