FERRIDAY, La. - Services for Ava Dean Cowan Fowler, 77, of Newellton, who died Friday, Feb. 9, 2001, in Newellton, will be at 2 p.m. today at Comer Funeral Home Chapel in Ferriday with Dr. Ray Robbins officiating.
Burial will be in Legion Memorial Cemetery in Newellton under the direction of Comer Funeral Home.
Visitation is from 1 p.m. until time of service today at the funeral home.
Mrs. Fowler was born Dec. 1, 1923, in Oark, Ark., the daughter of Isacce and Rhoda B. Cowan. She was a retired accountant and member of the First Baptist Church in Warrenton, Ga.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Charlie Fowler.
Survivors include two sons, John Benton of West Monroe and Michael D. Benton of Chatfield, Texas; one daughter, Alendra Fowler Herman of Phoenix, Ariz.; two sisters, Maedy Spruill of St. Joseph and Ruby Spruill of West Monroe; two grandchildren, Michael Benton Jr. and Jeremy Benton.
Pallbearers will be Virgil Barnes, Rocky Cowan, Dennis Cowan, Bobby Cowan, John Cowan and Harold Cowan.
