A Lansing area resident all of his life, Arthur graduated from Leslie High School. He served in the United States Airforce 41st Air Rescue Squadron in Africa during the Korean Conflict. Arthur retired from Fisher Body in 1986 after 35 years of service.
He and his wife, Loretta have been members at St. Casimir Catholic Church for the past 53 years.
Arthur was an outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping. Through all of his accomplishments in life the thing he held closest to his heart was his family. He loved his grandchildren especially and looked forward to becoming a great grandfather this April.
A loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, uncle and friend will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Ray Blank; sisters and brothers-in-laws, Laurene (Lawrence) Parsons, Iris (Bill) Griffen, Lottie (John) Taylor and Rosella (Fred) Frueh.
Arthur is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Loretta; children, Michael Blank of Los Angelos, CA, Theresa (Tony) Maffia of LaGrange, IL, Diane (Reed) Brown of Houston, TX, Elaine (Philip) Jaworsky of Williamston, MI, Linda Bell of Grand Ledge, MI and Christine Blank of Lansing, MI; sister, Ann (Gerald) Hartley; sister-in-law, Laura Blank; grandchildren, Joseph (Jessica) Maffia, Matthew (Logyn Dorholt) Maffia, Daniel Brown, Andrew Brown, Scott Bell, Eric Bell, Jacob Bell, Luke Jaworsky and Amanda Jaworsky.
Celebration of the Funeral Mass was Tuesday, January 25, 2011, at St. Casimir Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. William Lugger as celebrant.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to St. Casimir Catholic Church or American Lung Association in memory of Arthur.
The family is being served by the Palmer, Bush & Jensen Family Funeral Home, Lansing Chapel.
