Elom Newton Grove, 67, died at his home, Staunton, Route 3, last night at 6:45. He had lived in that community for past year, having formerly lived in Waynesboro. He was formerly employed at National Fruit Product Company, but had retired several years ago.
He was born August 23, 1897, in Ladd, the son of the late M. I. and Frances Lam Grove.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Retta Kiblinger Grove, one son, Eldon N. Grove, Staunton, Route 3, one daughter, Mrs. I. B. (Anna) Clarke, Front Royal, one sister, Miss Pearl Grove, Rt. 2, Waynesboro; two brothers, Emory, of Waynesboro, Route 2, and Elmer, Santa Rosa, Calif. and three grandchildren.
The remains will rest at the Etter Funeral Home until 10:00 a.m. Friday and will there be taken to his late residence Friday at 2:00 p.m. being conducted by Rev. T. Y. Mullins, pastor of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, with interment in Bethlehem Lutheran Church cemetery at Ladd.
Active pallbearers will be I. C. Hoy, Lee Zirkle, J. F. Tinsley, Lacy Young, J. D. Clark and Clarence Brownlee. Honorary pallbearers will be Charles Plumb, Charles Knicely, S. H. M. Greene, Charlie Lamb, Herbert Terrell, Charles Houff, Luther Baber, E. W. Barger, Merle Kiblinger, William F. Coyner Jr., Luther, Frank, Raymond Grove, John Kindig and Dr. C. W. Putney.
