He was born September 7th, 1929 at Cottonwood Point, Missouri to William Scott Jean and Grace Abbott Jean. He was united in marriage to Nona Adams, October 21st, 1954 in Caruthersville.
Jean was a lifetime resident of Cottonwood Point, being born in the home where he and his wife raised their family. He attended school in Caruthersville and was a farmer and a member of the Cottonwood Baptist Church.
He is survived by his living wife of 56 years, Nona Mae Adams Jean. Two daughters Pam Strawbridge and her husband Jimmy and Cathy Frost and her husband Jack, all of Cottonwood Point. Three grandchildren; David Strawbridge, Mark Strawbridge and Robyn Frost. A sister, Eula B. Brammeyer and a brother, Bill Jean as well as a multitude of other relatives and friends.
Preceding Jean in death were his parents, Scott and Grace Jean and two brothers, Johnny N. Jean and Jackie Jean.
Pallbearers for Mr. Jean were Chris Riggs, Kevin Riggs, Adam Riggs, Robert Mott, Dennis Mott, James Mott, Billy Powell, Robert Lynn Powell and Rickey Hopper.
Visitation for Mr. Jean was Wednesday, January 12, 2011 at H.S. Smith Funeral Home in Caruthersville, Mssouri. Funeral services were Thursday, January 13th, 2011 in the Chapel at H.S. Smith with Pastor Jimmy Johnson officiating and Mickey Moody assisting. Interment was in Maple Cemetery in Caruthersville.
H.S. Smith Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
