A son of Levi and Martha (Ake) Roudabush, he was born at Osterburg Nov. 13, 1894, and attended Penn State College. for the past 20 years he had been on the Board of Road Viewers. He was united in marriage in Bedford on Feb. 4, 1925 with Esther Negley of New Enterprise, who survives, together with seven children, all at home: Jennie, Betty, Doris, Calmer, Twins, Mary and Martha and Charles; his father, Levi Roudabush of Osterburg; a brother and a sister, Martin and Miss Lillie of Washington, D.C. The brother, however, who was also gassed in France, is a patient in the Veterans' Hospital in Oteen, N.C.
Deceased enlisted for service in the World War in May 1917, serving with Co. D. 318th Infantry, and was mustered out in April 1918. He was a member of the Evangelical Church at St. Clairsville, Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion Post at Claysburg. Both organizations attended the funeral held in the Holsinger Church of the Brethren Sunday afternoon, conducted by Rev. Dillinger of Loysburg and Rev. Frank King of New Enterprise. He was accorded full military honors and taps sounded for another brave soldier at the interment in the adjoining cemetery.
