Lumpkin — Mary Norma "Snooky" Lynch Holloway, 68, of Lumpkin, Ga., died Thursday, June 3, 2010, at her home.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. today, June 6, 2010, at Morris Baptist Church in Morris, Ga., with the Rev. Mike Hartley, the Rev. Raymond Smith, the Rev. Robert Orr and Leon Sparks officiating. Special music will be provided by Martha Jordan, Cathy Taylor and Sally Whatley. Interment will follow at County Line Cemetery in Stewart County. Serving as pallbearers will be Charles Misulia, Nicholas Misulia, Rusty Bradshaw, Spence Grimsley, Hayward Powell, Joey Holland, Buddy Nolan, Andy Sparks and Charles Grizzle. Honorary pallbearers will be Charles Shirling, Frankie Shirling, Rex Shirling, Billy Ridgway, Henry Lynch Jr., George Lynch Jr., Lynn Lynch, Jack Holbrook, Greg Grier and Milton Lancaster. Visitation will be at her home.

Mrs. Holloway was born June 13, 1941, in San Antonio, Texas, to Charles C. and Norma Williams Lynch, but returned to Stewart County at an early age. She attended Lumpkin schools and graduated from Lumpkin High School. She married the Rev. Edward Grier Holloway Sr. at the age of 17 and they remained married for 51 years. She was a member of Morris Baptist Church, Roanoke Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution, Georgetown Garden Club, and was a founding member of the Stewart County Historical Society and Westville Village. She was employed by Longleaf Lumber Co. for many years, she worked with migrant children in the Stewart County School System and retired from Stewart County as tax commissioner. She was preceded in death by her parents Charles C. Lynch and Norma Lynch Moore; by her husband and by her grandson Clay Adams.

She is survived by two sons, Grier Holloway and Matt Holloway (Anne), all of Lumpkin; by a daughter, Polly Adams (Terry) of Preston; by six grandchildren: Nikki Bryant (Robert), Missi Grimsley, Crissi Adams, Lin Holloway, Jay Holloway and MaryAnne Holloway; by three great-grandchildren: Addison Grimsley, Skyler Bryant and Lex Bryant; by a sister Carney Lynch Misulia (Andy); by nephews: Charles Misulia (Marilyn) and Nicholas Misulia; by a niece, Angel Bradshaw (Rusty); and by numerous cousins.

Memorial donations may be made to Morris Baptist Church, 231 Morris Church Road, Morris GA 39867 or to Wiregrass Hospice, 831 W. Washington St., Eufaula, AL 36027.
