Funeral services for Mr. Theodore "Teddy" Barnes, age 82, of Kelso conducted at Higgins Funeral Home with Rev. Kirk Smith and Jerry Mansfield officiating . Burial in Unity Cemetery. Mr. Barnes passed away Tuesday evening at Donalson Care Center.

He was a native of Lincoln County and he was the son of the late Theo and Mary Loyd Barnes.

Mr. Barnes began his radio career in 1948 and was the "Voice of YTM Oldies" for 30 years, and was a member of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include his wife Brenda Steelman Barnes of Fayetteville, son Steve Barnes and wife Birgit of Nashville, daughter Sawrie Becker and husband Carl of Buffalo, NY, step-son James White and wife Jaime of Fayetteville, step-daughter Cindy Battle and husband James of Huntsville, Ala. Five grandchildren Meaghan Lokey and husband Brandon of Birmingham, AL, Patrick Barnes and fiance Kristina of Nashville, Ryan and Amy Becker of Rochester, NY, Derek and Austin Becker of Buffalo, NY, step-grandchildren Brittany White, Kenesha Howard and Savanna Moore of Fayetteville, Garret and Andrea Atwood of Nashville.

In addition to his parents Mr. Barnes was preceded in death by brothers Colyer, Philip, and Chester Barnes, sisters Juell Thomas, Wynetka Ellis and Lorene Russell
