Josie Taylor Barnett, age 98, of Bryant, Arkansas passed away January 18, 2011 at the Southern Trace Bryant Health Care Center. She was born January 17, 1913 in Perry County, near Casa, Arkansas.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Seth Barnett; daughter, Imogene Edwards; son-in-law, Marvin Edwards and granddaughter, Connie Barnett.
She is survived by son, Hollis Barnett (Thelma) of Mabelvale, Arkansas; grandchildren, Hollis Ray Barnett (Suzanne) of Valdosta, Georgia; Dr. Don Barnett (Jane) of Bryant, Arkansas; Ron Edwards (Sonia); Rebecca Beal (Dr. Sam); Mike Edwards (Lynn) and Marvin Edwards, Jr. (Terry) all of California; 14 great grandchildren and eight great-great grandchildren.
Josie loved her family very much and was loved by all in return. She had a hard life working on a farm with her husband, but enjoyed her life to the fullest. She was of Pentecostal faith and loved the Lord just as she taught her children to love him also. Josie experienced almost a century of change in our nation from horse and buggy to the space station, something the younger generations are amazed how our nation has evolved.
Funeral services will be 3:30 p.m., Saturday, January 22, 2011 at Roller-Drummond Funeral Home, 10900 Interstate 30, Little Rock, AR 72209 (501) 455-5800. Interment will be with her husband in Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Cypress, California.
Family will receive friends 7:00-8:00 p.m., Friday at the funeral home.
