Funeral services were conducted at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in Our Savior Lutheran church for Dietrick Hunte, 84, Momence farmer, who died Dec. 8, at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Abraham Bakker of Lansing. The Rev. Walter Kemnitz officiated and burial was in Sherburnville cemetery.
Mr. Hunte was born Oct. 5, 1870, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Hunte of Beecher. He had lived on the Willard Smith farm west of Momence since 1894 until a year ago.
Mr. Hunte went to work on the farm as a young man. He met his wife, Freda Hansen, who also worked there. They were married Sept. 2, 1900, at the farm home and when the owners moved out, they rented the farm and spent their married life there. She died in 1947.
Surviving him are the daughter, Mrs. Bakker; sons, Albert of Essex, Clifford of Momence and Harry of Tucson, Ariz.; sisters, Mrs. Emma Elkins of Auburn, Wash., and Mrs. Minnie Hansen of Ambrose, N.D.; brother, August of Martinez, Calif.; six grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
