Emma was born in St. Joseph, Tennessee and moved with her parents in 1904 to St. Peter, Ohio. She married Isadore Braun on November 4, 1915 in St. Peter Catholic Church. They where married by Father Faist. The witnesses were Edward Braun and Mary Kaup. They had 8 children:

Emma Braun Dies at 80

Emma Mary Braun, 80, 729 E. Walnut St., Portland, Ind., died Sunday morning.

Mrs. Braun was born Sept. 24, 1895, the daughter of John and Anna Kaup. Her husband, Isadore Charles Braun, died Feb. 9, 1961.

She is survived by three sons, Jerome and Albert, Fort Wayne, adn William, Chicago; five daughters: Lorena Wendel, New corydon, Ind., Mrs. Lee (Rosemar) Roberts, Toole, Utah, Mrs. James (Winifre) Ostheimer, Woodburn, Ind., Marie Braun and Mrs. Keith (Virginia) Kelley, both of Portland; three sisters, Mrs. Joe Dues, Mrs. Nettie Lennartz and Mrs. Ida Will, all of Coldwater, a brother, John Kaup, Celina; 19 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Braun was a member of the Rosary Society of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Portland.

Funeral Services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the church, the Rev. Kenneth Racrek officiating. Burial will be in Green Park Cemetery, Porltand.

Friends may call after 3 p.m. Tuesday at Baird-Freeman Funeral Home, Portland.
