Henry Kaup Dies Friday at Hospital
Was a retired New Idea Employee
Henry Kaup, 76, retired New Idea employee of Coldwater, died Friday at 1:45 a.m. in Our Lady of Mercy hospital. He had been ill for the past ten years, but seriously for five weeks prior to his death.
He was born February 25, 1886 in St. Joseph, Tennessee, son of the late Anton and Wilhelmina Patt Kaup. His wife, the former Mary Buschor, died in 1924.
Mr. Kaup's brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Link moved in with the Kaup family in 1924 to help him rear his family.
The deceased was a member of the Holy Trinity Catholic church and the Holy Name Society.
Survivors include three sons, Sylvester, Urban and Jerome all of Coldwater; two daughters, Mrs. Gregor Gross of Ft. Recovery and Mrs. Robert Borger of St. Henry; one brother, John Kaup of Ft. Recovery; five sisters, Mrs. Lawrence Frietch, Cincinnati; Mrs. Ferd Will, New Bremen; Mrs. Isidore Braun, Portland; Mrs. Joseph Dues, Coldwater and Mrs. William Lennartz of Ft. Recovery; his sister-in-law Caroline Linke; 25 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services with a requiem high mass were held Monday at 10 a.m. in Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Father Gregor Dues, C.PP.S., nephew of the deceased, officiated and burial was made in St. Elizabeth Cemetery.
