Edward Bobbett

Edward W. Bobbett, 80, 1119 Jackson Ave., died at 3:20 a.m. Tuesday at a local nursing home where he had been a patient one day.

Mr. Bobbet was born April 10, 1901, at Jett, Okla., moving to Joplin in 1962 from Sulphur Springs, Ark. He was employed with the U. S. Department of Agriculture at Washington, D. C. for eight years and was later employed by a railroad, retiring as a farmer. He was a member of the Methodist Church. He married Bernice McGuire June 27, 1960, at Golden, Colo. She survives.

Also surviving are a daughter, Grace King, Honolulu, Hawaii; a step-daughter, Marilyn Galbrath, Golden; two brothers, Albert Bobbett, Cazenovia, N. Y., and Ottwell Bobbett, Erieville, N. Y.; four sisters, Helen Barber, Manlius, N. Y., Mildred Sweet, Spring Hill, Va., Ruth Lamar, McLean, Va., and Grace Burtershaw, Syracuse, N.Y.; two grandchildren, one step-grandchild and two great-grandchildren.

Prayer service will be at 11 a.m. today at the Parker Mortuary chapel with the Rev. U. K. Wright officiating.

The body has been taken for cremation.
