Helen Bobbette Barber, 89, of 2 Breezy Knoll, Mystic, Conn., died Friday at the Lawrence & Memorial Hospital in New London, Conn.
Born in Jeffersonville, Ill., she married the late Carroll Barber in Cazenovia in 1927. She was a beautician, operating Barbers Beautician Shop in Manlius more than 50 years.
In 1982, she moved to Mystic to be with her son and his family.
Surviving are two sons, Donald of Mystic, Conn., and Carroll of Houston, Texas; three sisters, Ruth La Marr of McLean, Va., Mildred Sweet of Spring Hill, Fla., and Grace Burtenshaw of Manlius; a brother, Ottwell Bobbette of Erieville; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
A grandson, Jeffrey Barber of Mystic, died in 1989.
A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date.
Donations may be made to the Christ United Methodist Church, 200 Hazelnut Hill Road, Groton, Conn.
