George Blomberg, age 83 years, of Rt. 2, Iberia, Mo., passed away Wednesday, November 9, 1977 at Charles E. Still Hospital in Jefferson City, Mo. where he had been a patient since September 26, 1977. Mrs. Blomberg was born November 10, 1893 in Miller County near Iberia, Mo., the son of Henry and Dorothy (Schulte) Blomberg.

He was united in marriage on April 30, 1919, in St. Anthony, Mo., to Josephine Johanna Schaffer, who survives of the home. Mr. Blomberg lived all his life in Miller County where he farmed. He retired in 1954 and moved to into town in St. Anthony, Mo.

Mr. Blomberg served in the United States Army in World War I from June 1918 to December 21, 1918. He was baptized at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in St. Elizabeth, Mo. and was at present a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church; a former member of the Holy Name Society and the Veterans of World I Barracks No. 1442 in Tuscumbia, Mo.

Preceding him in death were his parents; 2 daughters, Marcella at age 10 and one daughter in infancy; 1 brother, Ben Blomberg; and two sisters, Elilzabeth Blomberg as a teenager and Catherine Braun.

Surviving other than his wife, Josephine, are one son,3 daughters, 2 brothers,2 sisters, 23 grandchildren and 32 great grandchildren.

The Rosary was recited at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, November 10, 1977 at the St.
Anthony Parish Hall. Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, November 11, 1977 at St. Anthony Catholic Church with Rev. Jerome Jaworski officiating. Interment was in the St. Anthony Cemetery under the direction of the Stevinson Funeral Home of Iberia, Mo. Pallbearers were Roger Bax, Virgil Bax, Gerald Blomberg, Tim Clark, Bob Dickneite and Rich Buschmann.
