The funeral of Jack Gilmer was attended yesterday afternoon by a large crowd of sympathizing friends at the late Eleventh East street residence of the deceased.
Rector Norris of St. Mark's Cathedral conducted the ceremonies according to the ritual of the Episcopal Church and a select choir furnished the music. The remains were deposited in a vault at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.

Jack Gilmer and Monroe Salisbury created the Gilmer and Salisbury Overland Stage Company, and by 1880 were one of the most powerful corporations of the West. They had multiple routes and stops stretching all the way to the California Coast.
