Etta Fairchild is born in Iowa, the daughter of Eben and Mary Jane Errington Fairchild. She marries Will Carter Feb. 2, 1910. They have two children together, a son and a daughter. They live for many years in North Dakota. Later in life they move to Arizona and run "Carter's Cottages" together. Will dies in Arizona in 1969. Etta lives another 12 years, dying in 1981 at age 92.
