Will Carter is born in Clay County, IA and spends his youth in that vicinity. Will marries Etta Fairchild on Feb. 2, 1910. He lives in ND for his early years of marriage, a place his parents had lived for a few years around 1910. In the 1930s Will and Etta run a general store in Mohall, ND. Will and Etta have two kids together. Later in life they move to Arizona and for some time run "Carter's Cottages: Little Homes on the Desert". Will dies in 1969 at age 79.

YOUNGTOWN-- Services and burial for Will R. Carter, 79, a retired rancher and businessman who moved here in 1964, will be held in Dickens, Iowa. He died Saturday in Mountain View Hospital.
Mr. Carter, 11356 114th Ave., was born in Spencer, Iowa and ranched and operated a store in Mohall, N.D., for about 20 years. He came to Phoenix in 1951 and operated cottages in the Sunnyslope area for 11 years before moving here. He belonged to the Lansford Masonic Lodge in Lansford, N.D., and the Desert Stars Lodge and the Acacia Club here.
Survivors include his wife, Etta; one son, Fairchild, and a brother, both out of state; seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
