Conley Bennie, 67, of LaOtto, died Oct. 16 at his home. He was born Oct. 10, 1931 in Royalton, Ky. His parents were Adam and Elizabeth (Bailey) Conley. He and Dorothy Handshoe were married on Dec. 15, 1951 in Fremont. He worked at Mid West Foundry in Garrett for 10 years and then worked at Newnam Foundry in Kendallville for 35 years. Surviving are his wife; 2 sons, Jerry and Jeffrey Conley, both of Kendallville; 3 daughters, Elizabeth Conley of Avilla, Mary Mitchell of LaOtto and Barbara Bowman of Garrett; one sister, Meddie Etinger of Fremont; 2 half-sisters, Ollie Spencer of Florida and Poplee Crawford of Lima, Ohio; a half-brother, James Conley of Kenton, Ohio; a stepsister, Barbara Bowman of Garrett; 11 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
