Irene Elizabeth Ervin Brechbill, 91 of Markle passed away at 11:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 24, 2010 at the Markle Health and Rehabilitation Center.

For many years she farmed with her husband in Rock Creek Township in Huntington County. She later worked as an Assembler at Triad-Utrad Corporation in Huntington, retiring in 1980. She also babysat and provided daycare for the elderly living in the Markle area. She also worked for a few years at the People's Department Store in Markle. She was a member of the Markle Church of Christ and was a member of Order of the Eastern Star Markle Chapter. She enjoyed sewing and crocheting. She enjoyed traveling and liked to go fishing in Northern Minnesota.

She was born on December 2, 1918 in Huntington County, a daughter of James O. and Goldie E. (Burnworth) Ervin.

She was united in marriage to Vaughn Brechbill on June 4, 1938. He preceded her in death on November 28, 1959.

Survivors include a sister: Mary Delene Ervin Platt of Huntington; a brother-in-law: Phillip Jackson of Huntington and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by three sisters: Wilma Duckett, Geneva Stech and Ruth Jackson, four brothers: Welman Jack Ervin, Willie Ervin, Wendell John Ervin and Wilbur Lee Ervin.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 29, 2010 from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. at the Myers Funeral Home Markle Chapel, 415 N. Lee Street, Markle, Indiana.

Services will be held on Thursday, April 29, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. following visitation at the Myers Funeral Home Markle Chapel with Gerald O. Moreland officiating.

Interment will be at the Star of Hope Cemetery in Huntington.
