Ruth Ellen Jackson, 79, of Huntington died at 5:57 a.m. on Monday, June 18, 2007 at Parkview Huntington Hospital. For more than 30 years she provided childcare services in her home. She later provided independent home healthcare for adult clients.
She was born on June 25, 1927 in Huntington, a daughter of James Ovid and Goldie (Burnworth) Ervin. She was married to Phillip Allen Jackson on Nov. 26, 1950 in Markle.
Survivors include her husband, two sons, Steven A. Jackson of Huntington and Gregory B. Jackson of Columbia City; a daughter, Debra E. Wallace of Fort Wayne; two sisters, Irene Breckbill and Mary Platt both of Markle; nine grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Geneva Stech and Wilma Duckett and four brothers, Jack Ervin, Willie Ervin, Wendel Ervin and Lee Ervin.
There will be no public visitation.
Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, June 20, 2007 at 5 p.m. at the Mt. Etna Cemetery with Pastor Russell Buzzard officiating.
Memorials are to Huntington County Right to Life or to Cancer Services of Huntington County both in care of Myers Funeral Home, Huntington.
