Died in an ATV accident
Mike R. Barbour, 54, died, Saturday as a result of an ATV accident.
Mike was born on August 10, 1950 in Four Oaks to Joseph and Dorothy Barbour.
He had been employed by Bell South for 36 years. Mike was also an ordained Advent Christian Minister. He pastored the Raleigh Advent Christian Church, Lee's Union Advent Christian Church, and Wilson's Mills Advent Christian Church. He was preceded in death by his mother.
He is survived by his wifeof 34 years, Beth West Barbour; two sons, and daughters-in-law, Dr. Chad Adrian Barbour and wife Julie of Lexington, Kentucky, Brian Christian Barbour and wife Heather of Raleigh; one daughter, Michelle Barbour Young of Four Oaks; his parents, Joseph and Imogene Barbour of Four Oaks; one brother, and nephew, Mark Barbour and wife Wendy and Mark Barbour, Jr. of Four Oaks, andhis four grandchildren, the light of his life: Courtney Brooke Young, Cailey Anne Barbour, Eleanor Grace Barbour and BradenChristian Barbour.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 3:00 p.m. at the First Advent Christian Church in FourOaks with Rev. Jimmy Wooten and brother Mike Tart officiating. Burial will follow at Barbours Chapel Church Cemetery.
Flowers are welcome and donations may be made to Community Home Care and Hospice-707 Wilkins Street, Smithfield, NC 27577 or tothe Four Oaks Rescue Squad.
