BOONEVILLE – Bruce "Cookie" Cook, 66, died Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2011, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Booneville. He was born March 28, 1944, in Booneville. He was a Pentecostal, and he was a United States Army veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a retired truck driver for Booneville Trucking Company. He was also a plumber, electrician and Daily Journal carrier.

Services with military honors will be at 1 p.m. today at the Booneville Funeral Home Chapel, with Bro. Gene Cullum officiating. Kevin Balius will deliver the eulogy. Burial will be in Booneville Cemetery.

He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Sandra Taylor Cook; a daughter, Tammy Holland (Doyle) of Burnsville; a son, Chris Geno of Memphis; a brother, Vernon Cook (Lynne) of Booneville; a sister, Bernice Peter (Larry) of Finger, Tenn.; five grandchildren, Lauren Kay Mills of Saulsbury, Tenn., Laken Thomas (Jamie) of Wheeler, Cecelia Geno of Booneville, John Holland of Columbus and Gina Bray (Jeremie) of Jacinto; two great-grandchildren, Max Bray and Jailen Montana Thomas; and a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Esther Brown Cook; a brother, William Boyd Cook; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Rufus and Louise Taylor; and a brother-in-law, Wade Taylor.

Pallbearers are Jerry Perrigo, Brad Strickland, Kevin Balius, Robert Cook, John Cook, Boyce Barber, Larry Cosby, Ray Frost and Michael Reed.
