Lois lived most of her younger years in or around Hominy, Okla. She married Ray York on July 19, 1935, at the Hominy Church of the Nazarene. Two daughters were born to Ray and Lois, Mary Shelley and Patricia Anne. During this time, Lois wrote for many of the Nazarene Church publications. What she wrote exemplified her many years of consistent Christian living, teaching adults, teens and children, Bible study and loving her Savior and Lord, Jesus Christ.
Lois is survived by her two daughters, eight grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and one great- great-grandchild, and one sister.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband.
Services for Lois were held on Monday April 19, 2010, at 10:00 a.m. at the Nazarene Church in Hominy Oklahoma. Rev. Russell Hosey officiated. Interment was in the A.J. Powell Cemetery under the direction of Powell Funeral Home, Hominy, Oklahoma.
