David married Mary Olive McIntyre on September 1, 1853 in Green Creek, Ohio. David and Mary had children: Frederick, Maria, Oliver E., Ralph, and Laura.
--------------------------------------
David Hawk, one of the original pioneers of Sandusky county, died at five o'clock Wednesday morning at his home in Green Creek township. Had he lived until Feb. 6th he would have been 90 years old, and his entire lifetime was spent in the immediate neighborhood where he died.
Deceased was a son of David and Elinor Hawk, and was born Feb. 6, 1830 on what is known as the Kernahan farm, adjoining his late home. When a young man, in company with a number of others from the neighborhood he drove a team of ponies to California, being one of the "Forty-Niners." After a stay of nine months there he returned by way of the Isthmus, and early in the 50's married to Miss Mary Olive McIntyre.
There are four children living, namely, Mrs. G.E. Atkinson, who has lived at the old home and cared for him in his last illness, O.E. Hawk of Clyde, Ralph Hawk of Greenspring and Mrs. J.R. Cleveland of Tiffin.
Funeral services will be held on Friday at one o'clock at the late residence; interment will be made in Oakwood cemetery at Fremont.
