Charles Franklin Rainwater came to Texas with his mother when just a young boy, his father had died a short time before. The family came to Bell County and settled close to Temple.

Charles Franklin Rainwater married Mrs. Nannie Wright on 5 May 1885. She preceded him in death. To this union, 10 children were born. One son died in 1929.

Survived by his children - Mrs. Mattie Burch, Floyd Rainwater, Mrs. Ina Brown, Mrs. Dallas Pierce, Roy Rainwater, Mrs. Dollie Thornton, Claud Rainwater, Mrs. Lona Latham, Mrs. Oma Casesl; 36 grandchildren; 46 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren.

He was the step-father of two daughters, one having died several years ago. The other was Mrs. Sallie Robinson; one brother - Hose Rainwater; four sisters - Mrs. Isa Arthur, Mrs. Ann Kissleburg, Mrs. Allie Miller, Mrs. Jim Henshaw.

Mr. Rainwater was the oldest of several years. After the death of his father, he helped his mother raise his brothers and sisters. He united with the Methodist church in 1911.
