Ida Pauline Teals Williams, 89, of Jacksonville, FL, formerly of Harrison County, KY, passed away on Wednesday, January 5, 2011, at the Elmwood Care Nursing Center in Elmwood Park, IL. Born in Harrison County, Kentucky on April 17, 1921, she was a daughter of the late Lucille Dennis Teals and Sherman Lang Teals. She was a graduate of the Berry High School and a certified nurse who owned and operated the former Williams's Nursing Home in Berry. She also worked with Dr. Don Stephens when he first set up practice in Berry, Kentucky. She was a member of the Rolling Hills Missionary Baptist Church in Jacksonville, FL.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a daughter, Cherry Lea Howard; 2 sisters: Ruth Teals Northcutt and Leona Teals; 2 brothers: Lloyd Teals and Floyd Ross Mason, Jr., and a daughter-in-law, Linda Collins Howard.
She is survived by 6 children: Betty Howard (Dennis) Perkins of Jamaica, VA, Sherman (Darlina) Howard of Cynthiana, KY, James B. Howard of Berry, KY; William S. Howard of Williamstown, KY, Gene (Shirley) Howard of Jacksonville, FL, and Clarence (Gloria) Howard of Virginia Beach, VA; 21 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren; 9 great- great grandchildren; 1 brother, Wayne (May) Teals of Colorado Springs, CO; and 2 sisters, Jewell Teals Price and Wanda Teals Hardin, both of Cynthiana, KY.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon on Tuesday, January 11, 2011, at the Woodhead Funeral Home, 106 Main Street, Berry, KY 41003, with Bro. Larry Jones officiating. The visitation will be from 10-12:00 noon on Tuesday at the funeral home. Interment will take place in the Pythian Grove Cemetery, Berry.
