Calling One and Another
Mrs. Mary J Hillyard—The remains of Mrs. Mary J. Hillyard were brought from her home in St. Joseph, Mo., and deposited in the Corydon cemetery as their final resting place Saturday Last, followed by a number of sorrowing relatives and friends. We are enabled to publish the following in regard to the deceased:
Mary J. Hillyard was born at Marietta, Ohio, May 31, 1841, and died at St. Joseph, Mo., July 6, 1905. She came to Monroe county, Iowa, when a child and there grew to womanhood. She was united in marriage to B. Hillyard in October, 1861, coming the same year to Clay Township, this county, where they made their home for a good many years. Nine children were born to this couple, of whom eight are still living. She leaves besides the children a husband and other relatives and friends to mourn her loss.
Of the children all but three were present at the funeral. Their names and residences follow:
Earnest Hillyard, Sedalia, Mo.: Mrs. Anna Mulford, Cheyenne, Wyo.; Edward Hillyard, Clinton, Iowa, L. O. Hillyard, Dubuque, Iowa; N. S. and Dr. Lida Hillyard, Mrs. Ida Rush, Mrs. Mary Scull, St. Joseph, Mo.
