Wesley Gibbs, son of Rev. John Gibbs and Rebecca Connelly Gibbs, married Malinda Finley on July 9, 1821, Burke County, North Carolina, by his brother, Rev. Thomas Gibbs, their witness was Joseph Finley.

They were the parents of 7 children.

2. Bryant C. Gibbs
3. Charles Gibbs
4. Joseph A. Gibbs, married Elizabeth "Eliza" Narcissus, they are buried at Gibbs Cemetery, Yancey County, North Carolina
5. Rebecca Gibbs
6. Precila Martha Gibbs, married Obediah W. Ayers, they are both buried at Mount Olivet UMC Cemetery, Banks County, Georgia
7. Hannah Gibbs.

Note: Military Service: Joseph A. Gibbs, CSA, Enlisted on May 29, 1862, PVT CO C 58th Regiment NC Infantry. He went AWOL to care for his sick wife. When he returned home he was shot as a deserter.
