Gilbert S. Cottet, of 7177 E. Taft Road,
East Syracuse, died Monday in a local
nursing home.
He was employed by Cottet's Welding
Supply Co. as a truck driver for many
years. He was a veteran of World War I
and received a citation for bravery in battle.
Cottet was a member of the Raymond-
Faulkner-Cook American Legion of Cleveland,
Post 858. He was also a member of
the Simon Parise VFW Post 9596, a member
of the Taft Settlement Grange, the
Onondaga Pomona Grange and a member
of the Collamer United Church.
Surviving are two daughters, Ruth
Saunders of Florida, Doris Thompson of
East Syracuse; one son, Richard Snyder of
East Syracuse; two brothers, Raymond
Cottet of Syracuse and Lawrence Cottet of
Cleveland; six grandchildren; seven great grandchildren;
and several nieces and
nephews.
Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at
the Delaney & Greabell Funeral Home,
East Syracuse.
Spring burial will be in Collamer Cemetery.
Calling hours will be 2 to 4 and 7 to 9
p.m. today at the funeral home, 241 Kinne
St., East Syracuse.
Contributions may be made to the Minoa
Ambulance Fund or the Collamer
United Church Building Fund.
