Charlie was the fourth son of Adam Flath Sr., and for several years before his death in 1889, at the age of 31, had been associated in the mason trade with his two brothers, Adam and Anthon (Doc). He was an ardent member of Conestoga Masonic Lodge, and a faithful member of the Christian Church. His wife was Maria Burrows, daughter of Ira Burrows. They had two sons, very young at the time of his death. Stanley is a prominent druggist in Tacoma, Wash, and Dr. Norman is a dentist in San Francisco.
