Edward Charles Goulder was born the son of Charles Edward Goulder and Eunice Louise Godfrey on 16 January 1924. He was 5 years old when his parents both died in a car accident on 22 October 1929 on the Oak Cliff viaduct in Dallas, TX. Ed and his 2 siblings May and Robert were raised in the Corsicana IOOF Orphanage until age 18. He joined the Marines and fought in WWII as a gunnery sergeant in the South Pacific.
Upon discharge, Ed went to college. He married Marjorie Louise Griffin in Houston, TX on 4 June 1949 but they were divorced by 11 August 1952. A month later, Ed married Dorothy Faye Wright on 13 September 1952 with whom he had 5 children - Janette, Von, Don, Steve and Beverly. They lived in Segno, TX initially, moved to Cypress Fairbanks, TX and finally settled in Dayton, TX where they lived the rest of their lives.
He died at 1:00 am on 26 December 2005 from metastasized skin cancer and was buried at the Houston National Cemetery in honor of his service to his country during World War II.
