Mrs. William J. Turner, the former Dovie Daughtrey, Rt.#1, Powderly, died at 12:55 a.m. Saturday, March 3, at McCuistion Medical Center.

Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 5, at Fry and Gibbs Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Garvon Golden officiating. Burial will be in Red Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4-5:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Turner was born March 25, 1896, in the Powderly area, a daughter of J.W. Daughtrey and Alice Westbrooks Daughtrey. She attended PeeDee School and married William J. Turner on Aug. 5, 1917. He died Dec. 6, 1970.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Edgar (Ruth) McCrady of Oakville, WA and Mrs. David (Billie Dove) Kemper of Rt.#1, Powderly; three grandchildren, Mrs. Sally Magnuson of Oakville, Wash., Nancy McCrady of Oakville, WA and Carl Kemper of Powderly; one great-granddaughter, Laura Magnuson of Oakville, WA; two sisters, Miss Fannie and Florence Daughtrey, both of Powderly; two brothers, Clay and Johnny Daughtrey, both of Rt.#1, Powderly. The family will be at the Kemper home in Powderly.
