PRICE-Verna Fassio Johnson ,"Tootsie," age 74, passed away suddenly April 22, 2002 in Price with her daughter at her side.
She was born July 16, 1927 in Price to James and Glenda Pickup Fassio. Verna married Joel Hills Johnson, June 7, 1950 in Price. She was a member of the LDS Church. As life-long residents of Price she and Joel contributed much to this community over the years. They were both active in Rotary International and she enjoyed accompanying him to his many banking and civic activities. Verna worked for JC Penney Co. for over 34 years where she cherished her many friendships with associates and customers. Her primary love was her family, supporting her daughter in her musical pursuits and caring for her husband until his death in 1996. Her grandchildren were the love of her life. She and her mother "Grammy" cared for each other until her passing in 1999. Thanks to wonderful neighbors and friends she had been able to remain in the home that she cherished.
Verna is survived by her loving daughter Jan, her husband Jay Bryner and their four children, Joshua, Jeni Jo, Jordan and Jaden, all of Sandy. She had a special place in her heart for her nephew Alan Peterson, his wife Lori and their daughter Shauntel of Carbonville. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Joel and sister and brother-in-law Joanne and Richard Peterson,
Funeral services will be held Saturday April 27, 2002 at 11 a.m. in the Price 5th Ward LDS Chapel Friends may call Friday evening from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Fausett Mortuary in Price and one hour prior to services at the church. Burial, Price City Cemetery.
