Ora Alice Hamilton Glass, 91, of Waco, Texas, passed away Jan. 5, 2011, in Waco. Funeral Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 8, at Scott's Funeral Home in Gatesville with the Rev. Stan Ortner officiating. There will be no set visitation. Burial will follow at Flint Creek Cemetery.

Ora Alice was born in The Grove, Coryell County, Texas, to the late William Leroy "Roy" Hamilton and Maggie Brazzil Turner. She grew up in The Grove, and she married Henry Glass on Oct. 30, 1937, in Flat. Henry and Ora moved to Waco in 1949 and together with their children, built a business, H & B Contractors, Inc. Ora was a member of Harris Creek Baptist Church. She was a devoted wife, mother and friend whose advice, though never given unless solicited, was wise and worthwhile. She believed in and had a lot of confidence in her children. She was prayerful, disciplined, optimistic, generous and firm but kind. She was a good sport with a competitive spirit. She was a gifted seamstress and a great cook, a successful business woman and a fine homemaker. Love was such a powerful force in her life that you could see Jesus in her without her feeling a need to evangelize. She was "Sweet Sweet Granny Ora".

She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Wesley Glass on July 19, 1997; and grandson, Kurt Lynn Davis.

Ora is survived by sons, Bill Glass and wife, Penny, of Moody; daughters, Myrna Anne Davis and husband, Tommy, of Waco, Sharon Stiver and husband, Maury, of Houston, and Judy Woodard Collins and husband, Louis, of Spicewood; grandchildren, Leesa Dawn Davis Brown, Monica Alyce Davis MacGibbon, Kelly Ann Glass Branard, William Warren "Bill" Glass, Leslie Carol Stiver Rice, John Maury Stiver, Scott Hamilton Woodard, Bradley Springer Collins, and Tracy Lynn Collins; 15 great-grandchildren; sister, Sherry Lane Moody, of Jacksonsville; and many other loving family members and friends.
