Sarah F. Spurgin, 81, of Central Place died at 12:08 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 28, 1998, at Columbus Regional Hospital.

She was a representative for Avon Co. for 51 years, a member of First Baptist Church, Senior Center and Order of Eastern Star. She served as memorial chairman for the American Diabetes Association.

Funeral will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Barkes, Inlow and Weaver Funeral Home on Washington Street, with the Rev. Jon Carlstrom officiating. Calling will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home and from 9 a.m. until time of service Wednesday. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association.

Born Jan. 18, 1917, in Carrollton, Ky., she was the daughter of James and May Moore McClure.

Survivors include a daughter, Kathryn Bennett of Vinton, Ohio; grandchildren, Christy Newhouse, Susan Shellman and Steven Bennett; and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Moore; three brothers; and one sister.
