Emmitt D. Wilshire, 92, of Elm Mott passed away on Wednesday, October 1. 1997 at a local hospital.

Funeral Services will be at 10 a.m Friday at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel in West, with Curtis Holland, chaplain, officiating. Military honors will be conducted by the V.F.W. Post No. 4819 of West at the Gerald Cemetery near Gerald.

Mr. Wilshire was born on June 29, 1905, in Alvarado, the son of Richard Sexton and Annie Newsome Wilshire.

He married Frances Mae Janke on April 19, 1942, in Jerrell. He Lived in Elm Mott since their marriage.

Mr. Wilshire served in the Army Air Forces during World War II from 1942 to 1945, serving in the China-Burma, Theatre.

He owned and operated the Wilshire Tavern from 1945 until he retired in 1971. He was a member of V.F.W. Post 4819, and American Legion NO. 478 of West since his discharge. He was a past president of Elm Mott Water Board and a former member of Elm Mott Volunteer Fire Department.

He is survived by his wife, Frances Wilshire of Elm Mott, one son, Richard Wilshire and his wife, Sue, of Elm Mott, one daughter, Becky Ellison and her husband, Mack, of Itasca, one grandson, Richard Scott Wilshire, and one granddaughter, Candice Renee Dulock, both of Elm Mott, a great-grandson, Cody Ryan Dulock of Elm Mott, his pride and joy, and several nieces and nephews.
