He was born in Columbus County, the son of the late John Swindell Gore and Dell Stocks Gore. He was a member of Old Zion Church and a veteran of the U.S. Army.
He is survived by his wife, Levonia M. Gore of Tabor City; one son: Daylon Brooks Gore and wife Georganna of Tabor City; one brother: Hubert Gore of Lumberton, N.C. One granddaughter: Danielle Gore and fiance' Jonathan Spivey of Tabor City. One great granddaughter: Ana Reese Fonvielle of Tabor City.
Funeral services will be Thursday (Dec. 30, 2010) at 2 PM in the Old Zion Wesleyan Church with burial in the Old Zion Cemetery, Tabor City.
Visitation will be Wednesday night from 6 until 8 PM at Inman Funeral Home.
