Milwaukee Sentinel, Thurs. Nov. 29, 1888, p. 2:4. While walking along the St. Paul tracks at the foot of Twenty-sixth street yesterday afternoon John Biegel was run over and instantly killed by a special train. He stepped from one track to another in order to avoid a freight train and get in front of the special. Biegel was 19 and of age and lived at 622 Maple street.

Milwaukee Journal, Nov. 30, 1888, p. 4:3. The coroner's jury today rendered a verdict of accidental death in the case of John Biegel, killed by the cars at the foot of Twenty-sixth street.
