Mrs. Catherine Shalley, 82, formerly of Stockwell, died at the home of a granddaughter, Myrtle Ray, of 126 East Thirtieth street, Indianapolis, Tuesday night at 10 o'clock. Born in Pennsylvania on Nov 16, 1851, she was a daughter of John and Catherine Hoke, marrying Henry Shalley on Nov 9, 1868. The couple moved to Tippecanoe county several years later, where Mrs. Shalley became a member of the Stockwell M. E. church. She is survived by two sons, Baron of Indianapolis and Ellsworth of Mulberry; two daughters, Mrs. Lily Shoemaker and Mrs. Kate Kessler, both of Clarks hill, eleven grandchildren, Her husband died 21 years ago. The body was brought to Stockwell where funeral services were held from the M. E. church Thursday.
