A native of Yazoo County, he was a former resident of Jackson and Florence prior to moving to Wesson in 1966. He was retired from the U.S. Army where he received numerous medals including the Silver Star.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Clinton Webb Ryan of Star; daughter, Mrs. Jeannette Pritchard of Wesson; sons, Richard Ryan of Wesson, Bree Ryan Jr. of Hazlehurst, and William B. Ryan of Converse, La.; brothers, Marion Ryan, Newton Ryan, and Harold Ryan, all of Wesson; sisters, Mrs. Sadie Mills and Mrs. Bonnie Casey, both of Richland amd Mrs. Gladys Muchley of West Covina, Calif.
