Obituary….died March 5, 1925
Knapp, Sarah Jane (Louw) 87 years 10 months and 2 days of age. Born May 3, 1837 in Groton, Tompkins County, New York. She married Nathanieal Knapp of Groton, New York in 1857. She came to Michigan at 6 years of age settling in Ferry Township. She died March 5, 1925 at home of her daughter Mrs. Ira Tillottson in Shelby. Sarah leaves 5 children: Mrs. Louisa Shipman of Detroit, Giles and Charley Knapp of Hesperia, Mrs. Anna Tillottson and Warren Knapp of Shelby…burial at Hope Cemetery.

*(there is a discrepancy in date of death & her maiden name. Her obituary states she died March 5th and I have her maiden name was Louw or Lowe).

*After her first husband Nathaniel Knapp died Sarah married in 1874 to Wm. Ward, so i don't know why her obit. showing her last name as Knapp.
