Jessie Dough Sawyer, 92, died July 8, 1992, in a nursing home. Mrs. Sawyer was born in Manteo. She was the widow of Henry Sawyer. Survivors include two daughters, Elizabeth Brickhouse of Newport and Mary Davenport of Portsmouth; a sister, Mary D. Craddock of Manns Harboro; nine grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. A funeral was conducted Saturday in Manteo, by the Rev. Clarence Garner. Burial in Manteo Cemetery.
