Anna A. (White) Bernard, 96, of Enfield, entered peacefully into eternal life surrounded by loved ones on Tuesday, (May 30, 2006) at her home. She was born Oct. 23, 1909, in the Thompsonville section of Enfield, daughter of the late Frank and Josephine (Cormier) White and widow of Omer C. Bernard; she was a lifelong resident of the community. Before retiring Anna was employed for several years with the former Bigelow Sanford Carpet Co. and then for many years owned and operated with her husband, Omer the former Bernard's Market. She was a former member of the AARP/Holy Family Chapter, and a lifetime member of St. Patrick's Church. Anna is survived by her loving son, Roger Bernard and his fiancee, Therese Henzel of Enfield. She also leaves the special apple of her eye, Mikayla Henzel and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by four sisters, Mae Cormier, Ernestine Browne, Evelyn Dunne, and Annette Gebo, and three brothers, Lawrence, Edward and Blair White. Funeral services in celebration of Anna's life will be held on Friday, June 2, 8 a.m. from Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels, 43 Shaker Rd., Enfield, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 a.m. in St. Patrick's Church. Interment will take place in St. Patrick's King St. Cemetery, Enfield. Her family will receive friends TODAY, June 1, from 4-8 p.m. at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels. In appreciation a special Thank You to Brone Keiksciuniene and to the Hospice Program for their loving care, assistance and support.
