Gwendolyn Skerritt, daughter of George and Margaret Skerritt, was born May 10, 1905 in Dublin, Ireland, She immigrated to the United States as a child with her parents and brother, settling in Scobey, Montana.
As a young girl, Gwendolyn loved to race horses.
Gwendolyn married Arnold Wahl on October ll, 1932, at Plentywood, MT. After their marriage they moved to a farm north of Greenbush where they milked cows and raised beef cattle.
She also worked as a nurse for several years in Thief River Falls. They were members of Oiland Lutheran Church.
Gwendolyn is survived by four daughters: Fern (Melford) Nelson of Badger, Juanita (Charles) Newquist of Alamogordo,NM, Nora (Chrest) Hamness of Strathcona and Sonja (Raymond) Hanson of Strathcona; Son: Oswald "Buzz" Wahl of Strathcona; 16 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren; Sisters-in-law: Elma Skerritt of Glendive, Mt, and Edna Wahl Melby of Greenbush; and special relatives Ileen Emery and Phyllis Wahl, both of Greenbush.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Arnold in 1980; one son: Robert and her brother: Harold Skerritt.
Casketbearers were Chris and Dale Hamness, Darrell Miller, Wayne, Kenny and Zachery Hanson, Robert and Earl Wahl, Scott Zak and Aaron Strandberg.
