CORDA HOOPER
Corda Etna Pate Hooper, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James E. Pate, was born July 2, 1872, near Cross Plains, Ind. In 1881 the family moved to Tipton, Ind., and around 1885 to Orleans, Nebr. Here at Orleans Mrs. Hooper graduated from high school in 1890. She met Harry F. Hooper in Orleans where they were married Sept. 13, 1893.
For about six or seven years they taught in various high schools, spending their summers in the state university at Lincoln, Nebr.
One son, James Gerald Hooper, of Chicago, Ill., was born at Dorchester, Nebr., Feb. 9, 1903.
Besides the son, there is also a brother, Howard E. Pate, of Oklahoma City, Okla. surviving, Mr. Hooper having died some years ago.
Mrs. Hooper was a member of the Methodist church in Chariton, having transferred her membership from the Auburn Park Methodist church of Chicago, after establishing her home here.
Funeral services were held from the Beardsley Funeral home Friday at 2 p.m., with the Rev. Robert W. Swick in charge. Burial was made in the Chariton cemetery.
