Mrs. Ida Everett
Ida Belle Morgan was born in Wayne Co., Iowa on the 15th of February, 1880. She was one of seven children born to Joseph and Melissa Wolf Morgan, all of whom have departed this life, leaving the parental home bereft of children on earth but rich in heaven.
On the 20th day of November, 1896 Ida Morgan was united in marriage to Joseph E. Everett, of Chariton, to them were born five children, four of whom and the husband survive her. The family lived in Chariton until July 1903, when they removed to Des Moines. About five weeks ago, stricken with disease, Mrs. Everett came to the home of Mr. and Mrs. John Everett, the husband's parents in Chariton, where every thing possible was done for her comfort and restoration to health. She continued rapidly to decline and on Wednesday afternoon, June 1st, 1904, she departed this life, aged 24 years, 3 months and 16 days. During the last year Mrs. Everett became a child of God and united with that branch of his church known as "The Church of God." She met the last enemy and overcame through faith in the Love of God. We laid her to rest in the hope of a better resurrection. The funeral services, conducted by Rev. B.F. Miller, was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John Everett on last Friday afternoon at 1:30. The body was then laid to rest in the Chariton Cemetery.
