PRICE/WINNEMUCCA, Nev. - Samuel Sylvester Hunt was called home by his heavenly father March 14, 2004 at the VA hospital in Reno, Nev. surrounded by his loving family.

Sam was born Jun 28, 1928 in Huntington, to Samuel Sylvester Hunt Sr. and Rosann Levi. Sam served in both the United States Air Force and Navy. He retired from the Navy in 1972. During his time in the service Sam met and married the love of his life, Barbara W. Waterman on March 28, 1950, after 33 years of marriage Sam still thought of her as his "girlfriend".

Sam enjoyed dancing at seniors, playing cards, "flipping out" with his wife, and traveling around with his wife before he became ill. Sam will always be remembered for his love and tender heart, he was always willing to help people in any way he could, Sam enjoyed spending time with his family and playing with his grandchildren when he came to Price for a visit, he will be dearly missed by all of us.

He is survived by his loving wife; and their children, Sam Hunt, Dennis Hunt, and Bruce Hunt of Winnemucca, Nev.; and Darlene (Max) Conder of Price; grandchildren, Paul Mullis, Alycia Gabriel, Lori Vasquez, Jenny Mullis, Chris Hunt; and four great-grandchildren and one on the way. Sam was preceded in death by parents; and 15 brothers and sisters.

In keeping with his wishes Sam was cremated in Reno, Nev. under the direction of O'Brian, Rogers, and Crosby Mortuary.
